Senior Cloud Architect

We’re supporting a major enterprise transformation programme and are looking to engage an experienced Cloud Architect to help shape and govern a large-scale cloud environment across a complex, regulated landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve secure, enterprise-grade cloud architectures, including landing zones, networking, and platform foundations
  • Lead cloud governance and assurance activities aligned to recognised security and compliance standards (including GDPR and modern regulatory frameworks)
  • Support application and service dependency mapping to enable migration planning, sequencing, and cutover readiness
  • Run and contribute to technical design workshops with engineering, infrastructure, and architecture stakeholders
  • Identify architectural and delivery risks, proposing pragmatic mitigation and remediation strategies
  • Guide and support Infrastructure as Code approaches and automated deployments using modern tooling (e.g. Terraform, configuration automation frameworks)
  • Provide architectural oversight across cloud modernisation and migration initiatives, ensuring consistency and scalability

Key Skills

  • 7+ years’ experience in enterprise cloud architecture, large-scale migration programmes, or platform engineering leadership roles
  • Strong background in cloud security, governance, and regulatory alignment within enterprise environments
  • Industry certification in cloud architecture (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform, configuration management platforms)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking and security constructs (IAM, VPC/VNet design, encryption standards, connectivity models)
  • Familiarity with regulated environments and frameworks such as GDPR and modern security control standards
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and drive architecture decisions across multiple teams

Desirable Experience

  • Insurance or financial services background
